May showers

Boston is drenched. Yes, it's spring, and it's rained every weekend for the past 5 weeks. We might actually get some sun this coming weekend, though there's a chance for -- you guessed it -- more rain. This week looks to be the worst, with rain pretty much every day. I'm getting a little stir crazy with the rest of the Bostonians. It's worse for those on the coast, of course.

I guess we'll all be wishing for some rain to cool us down in July, when it's 90 degrees.

A good time was had by all at Luke Hardy's graduation

My uncle Jim and aunt Mary celebrated their son Luke's graduation from SUNY Albany by organizing a party for as much of the Hardy family as was able to attend. My grandparents and all of their children were in one place for the first time in many years. My dad even made the trip from Minneapolis. He was glad to see everyone and to meet two of his nieces, Elena and Anna, for the first time. We also met my cousin Jonathan's wife, Shizuka, for the first time.

We were treated to a beautiful Saturday -- thankfully, the predicted rain held off until about midnight. We met at Luke's history department ceremony, then enjoyed a specially catered dinner, and later, cake and graduation gifts for Luke and his friend Carolyn at Jim and Mary's hotel suite.

My dad and I also enjoyed a rare chance for one-on-one time driving to and from Albany and two dinners in Boston. It was a lovely weekend. I'll put some photos up here soon...

Quick update -- and get that photo off the front page :)

Okay, the big photo of me on my home page has been up long enough. I need to put some entries in to push it off the first page.

So, what's happened in the last couple weeks? Well, I've been biking a lot, since the weather's been nicer. Although there's been rain every weekend, so I haven't had as many long rides, which I need to get going on for my PMC training.

My dad is arriving in Boston today, and we're going together to my cousin's graduation in Albany (btw, more rain this weekend). A large delegation of Hardys will be there to celebrate. I'll get to see a lot of other family I don't get to see very often. It'll be the first time seeing one of my youngest cousins, and the first time meeting the wife of another cousin. Should be a fun.

I'm planning a vacation in July, visiting family Minneapolis and friends in San Francisco. And my brother, Matt, is visiting at the end of this month for a U2 concert in the new Boston Garden.

Hopefully, this should at least push that photo down a bit.
